Launching of an Electronic Procurement Management Information System (PROMISe)

Addressing the long awaited need of the public sector and marking the most transformational change in the Sri Lankan, public procurement domain, the Ministry of Finance is introducing an electronic procurement system which facilitates an efficient and transparent procurement process in the entire public sector.
The Finance Minister, Hon. Mangala Samaraweera launched this web portal today (29 May 2019) at the Ministry of Finance to facilitate the e-procurement system for procurement of all the goods, services and works in the public sector.

Launching the Local Language Help Center – 0117024957

The Local Language Help Center was launched today at the University of Colombo.  The launch was organized by Theekshana, through which the Center will operate.

The objective of this venture is to address issues which users may still encounter when using Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Sinhala and Tamil.  

Mr. Harsha Wijayawardhana is the Co-Chair of the Generation Panel for the Sinhala script

Harsha Wijayawardhana is the Co-Chair of the Generation Panel for the Sinhala script. He has more than 25 years of experience in information and communications technology (ICT) and has been involved in UNICODE Sinhala research for more than 10 years. He is currently the Chief Operating Officer of Theekshana, a company at the University of Colombo School of Computing in Sri Lanka.
